Future monday apps challenges
I have an app idea that I'd like to build for the marketing + creative / wildcard category.
Bummer that I won't be able to participate in this round.
I saw a response here though indicating that there will be more monday apps challenges continuing throughout 2021... so that gives me hope haha.
How many more of these challenges can we expect?
And will the categories be more or less the same?

Hi Ani,
Any work you put in at any point in the contest will still be helpful for you! We'll let everyone know before our final contest, but we're looking to continue these well into 2021. The categories for now will look similar so feel free to use this time to still develop! Our new dev accounts aren't time restricted either so you can always use them for your testing.
Let me know if you have any more questions!

@Matthew,
On a related note, I am currently juggling a few different ideas. I'll soon have to focus on one or two for this contest, and hopefully carry the others forward to future contests.
I note you say that new dev accounts are not time restricted. Does this mean that developers will be able to carry forward their free accounts indefinitely? That would be great for me, as I can't really justify moving to a paid plan, but it would be helpful not to have to suspend work between contests and backup/restore elements of work-in-progress between a succession of trial accounts.
My existing trial account is scheduled to expire in 53 days. Would it be possible for you to modify it so that it has the same status as the new dev accounts, or should I consider creating a new account?
Are there any noteworthy restrictions that do apply to the new dev accounts? Presumably, like the previous modified trial accounts, they have access to 'pro'-level features?

Hey Colin, great questions. All current 'contest' accounts will be transitioned into dev accounts, which we thought would be done by now but has been backlogged. We're here to fully support doing those efforts manually until we are able to transition every contest dev account into a full developer account that is not time restricted. Dev accounts are limited in the amount of people who can work on those accounts and the rest is unrestricted to allow for testing of all new and upcoming features. Let me know if that helps clarify!

Thanks Matthew. That sounds ideal. It will be very helpful to be able to continue working between contests, and maybe even look towards non-contest development work in the future.

Is it too late to join the current contest now? I just Registered today. Will my submission not count because of registering late?

Hey Jonathan, it's never too late! Should you miss the deadline we'll be having another contest of this caliber launching in January. You're welcome to continue the same accounts and submit then! Let me know if that helps.

It's Sunday and the end of the January. I think Monday team might have been planning something else..
